Synopsis:
This virtuoso, dazzling and sophisticated concerto includes 3 movements.
The first movement is a lively Allegro, rhythmical and often includes dialogues between the flute and the percussion.
The second movement is a Romance in variable meter. It opens with the flute in a lyrical folk-like melody accompanied by the harp.
The third movement is Variations. The theme, introduced by the flute is woven into the different variations: from march to pastoral, choral to jazz, a cadenza and ends with a great bravura.
