Very interesting to read the newspaper article. Would be good to read a review of the premiere as nothing on this scale had been attempted by a major Israeli composer. The only performance available for listening purposes seems to be the 1962 one by Kol Yisrael cond by Maestro Lavry, and sounds very good. The Shulamit solo Shechora Ani is very frequently performed by sopranos here in Israel with piano accompaniment but the rich, beautifully scored orchestral version sounds far better. My parents had an American recording by Josefa Schocken made around 1951-2 with the Tel-Aviv Chamber Orch cond by Lavry. Lots of background noises, and what could have been a string snapping, but lovely nevertheless.

    Thank you, Aryeh,

We do love Song of Songs and are wondering if you may still have the recording with Yosefa Shoken that you mentioned.
